During the project week before the 2025 summer holidays, the environmental group designed a deposit bin. The idea came about because many students often simply throw their returnable bottles and cans into the rubbish, which, of course, goes against the whole idea of recycling.
The Lippstadt City Council’s maintenance depot was kind enough to donate a rubbish bin to us, which we then decorated ‘by hand’ and subsequently placed in the entrance area.
As the proceeds from the deposits were, of course, to be donated to an organisation involved in environmental protection and nature conservation, the group chose the Lippstadt Animal Shelter as the recipient of the donation.
On 7 May 2026, the environmental group was able to present the animal shelter with a donation of €200, which also included €85 raised at a Christmas bazaar.
The animal shelter staff were delighted with the donation, as such a sum can help cover increased veterinary costs, such as the cost of neutering a cat.
