With around 100 students, the Hanse-Kolleg in Hamm is the largest branch of the Lippstadt City Adult Education Centre. Its catchment area extends well into the Münsterland region, making it an important educational provision in the region.

The range of courses on offer in Hamm takes into account individuals’ flexibility when it comes to continuing education and is correspondingly diverse: these include the Kolleg programme, morning and evening grammar school courses, and the online Abitur. Sixteen teachers ensure a broad range of subjects across the three main subject areas of upper secondary school: languages, natural sciences and social sciences.

The Hanse-Kolleg collaborates with the Adult Education Centre (VHS) of the City of Hamm. The Hanse-Kolleg’s courses leading to the Fachhochschulreife and Abitur, as well as the VHS’s courses, take place at the City of Hamm’s Continuing Education Centre.

The Continuing Education Forum is easily accessible by car (on-site parking available) or by bus (lines 21, 22, R 41, ‘Lohschule’ stop) and is situated close to the motorway in the south of Hamm, at Lohschule 6 in Hamm-Rhynern.

Among the top-performing A-level graduates from schools in Hamm, there are always students from the Hanse-Kolleg. Just like the slightly younger A-level graduates from other schools, they were very successful during their three years in the upper sixth form – whilst also working full-time or part-time, or looking after children.
